*** LADIES LEAGUE HAS COMMENCED ***



The inaugural ladies basketball league officially commenced on the 22nd October 2005 with 2 of the 4 teams being created entirely from female players who had registered their interest on our website. The four teams competing in our first season are The Bucks, The Chilli Peppers, IGNX Wildfire and the Falcons. To see some photos of the ladies in action please see the link below:-

*** JUNIOR OPEN BALL *** JUNIOR LEAGUES ***

CALLING ALL JUNIOR "JORDANS"

We are proud to announce that BBAXN JUNIOR OPEN BALL BASKETBALL SESSIONS will commence in NOVEMBER 2005 on Sunday Mornings. The weekly one hour 45 mins instructional sessions will provide the arena for junior players of all ages to meet, with the ultimate objective of forming new junior basketball clubs which will take part in our inaugural Junior Leagues, due to start in February 2006. The OPEN BALL SESSIONS will combine a fundamental basketball skills program with a parallel professionally organized junior league club competition.

Junior players of all levels will benefit from the OPEN BALL SESSIONS by improving their individual skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and defending. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to be recruited into a newly formed junior league teams. Boys and girls of all skill levels are encouraged to sign up. For the purpose of constructive coaching different Junior OPEN BALL sessions are created for the different age groups ie we do not believe in combining Under 16 players with Under 12 players.

Junior Leagues are targeted to commence in January 2006 and teams are now beginning to register ....., friendly games can be organized for teams keen to warm up before the season commences.

*** 1NITESTAND CHAMPIONS CUP 2005 ***

The undefeated BBAXN Midweek League Champions IGUANAS Basketball Club (with players originating from USA, Canada, Brazil) on October 16th 2005 took to court against the BBAXN Saturday League Champions GLOBE BALLERS Basketball Club (with players originating from Indonesia and USA). The Globe Ballers had previously only tasted defeat once and notched up 800 points in only 12 games....

The Globe Ballers, with their relatively small squad of players and their flamboyant stylem, in the semi finals beat Singapore's LASER Basketball Club by 69 vs 47, whilst the other semi final between EZRA REDS Basketball Club and IGUANA's was a lot closer. Iguana's came out victorious by only 7 points. Final score Iguana 60, EZRA Reds 53.

The Final was a superb game held at the Basketball Association of Singapore indoor courts with Iguanas emerging victorious 67 to 63.

SGD500 cash + Trophy was presented to the winning team by the 1Nitestand.

*** SEASON ONE CHAMPIONS ***

Midweek league Champions were the Iguana's with a 12-0 record, Laser were the runners up. The fair play award was won by the Gekkos Basketball Club.

*** BBAXN ALL STARS ***

BBAXN received confirmation from Mr Tan Poh Hock (Tournament Director Basketball Association of Singapore ("BAS")) on the 14th October 2005 that the BAS would like to invite a BBAXN All Stars team to enter the prestigious 7-11 Singapore Invitational Challenge to compete against 11 other teams - 8 of which will be from the National Basketball League of Singapore.

BBAXN naturally accepted this invitation and our All Stars is now in full training - first game will be TAGAWA Basketball Club on the 27th November at the BAS Courts at 1930.
